How to Browse the Web Safely?

There are many ways you can protect yourself as you visit the internet. One foremost tool to protect yourself, your pc and your privacy is to install good antivirus and anti malware programs. You don't have to really pay as there are now free antivirus programs you can avail of. However the protection it can give is limited. If you want to better protect yourself you can buy better versions of antivirus and antispyware programs, install them on your pc and keep them updated. New threats are created daily.

Aside from these anti viruses you can also protect yourself by installing additional protection to your browser. There are mozilla add ons that are useful when it comes to preventing your from entering potentially dangerous websites.

Here are some I found online:

1. WOT- It stands for Web of Trust. It rates websites even before you enter them. Green is go, Yellow is caution and Red is stop. It's available for free download add on for Firefox.

2. McAfee Siteadvisor- This one works just like WOT. It shows red for dangerous websites. Basically it does the same thing- warns you before you visit a website.

These tools are very useful. They may not be 100 percent accurate all the time but they really help.
